Our Purpose
There are over 8,000 individuals in the Oceanside area without a Family Doctor or Nurse Practitioner to provide their primary medical care. Flowerstone Health Society (FHS) was created in 2019 to be a community driven organization that develops, governs, and supports medical clinics serving Oceanside and the surrounding areas. The clinics we oversee are to act as a resident’s primary medical relationship, linking them to the Primary Care Network of medical professionals within our region.
Traditionally medical clinics are operated by the Physicians that own them. The society model is different. Flowerstone Family Health Clinic was funded through the province’s Primary Care Strategy, though the clinic’s ongoing governance, and the society’s ability to invest in future opportunities, will depend on community support. The more money we can raise, the more we can do.
