Our partner CanadaHelps processes securities donations on our behalf. Here’s how the process works:
- Complete the online pledge. Provide details about the securities or mutual funds you’d like to donate. Download the Letter of Direction and you’ll receive an email confirming your pledge.
- Send the Letter of Direction to your broker. This authorizes the transfer of shares to CanadaHelps. Transfers typically settle within one to two business days.
- CanadaHelps sells the shares and sends proceeds to Flowerstone. You’ll receive a confirmation email with your charitable tax receipt once the sale is complete.
Using a self-directed investing platform (RBC Direct Investing, TD Direct Investing, Scotia iTrade, Questrade, and similar)? You may need your broker’s own Letter of Authorization form. The Letter of Direction we provide includes all the information you’ll need to complete it.
